Bare Metal Restore
The Bare Metal Restore functionality within Datastore365's remote backup service
allows you to recover your entire server when they have failed, even to dissimilar
hardware! Any disaster that destroys a computer system requires a bare metal restore
to ensure the minimum downtime and disruption to a business. Once new hardware has
been configured with a fresh operating system of the same family as the original computer, users can then restore the complete system including data, profiles, registry
and system states, programs and service pack files from local storage.
Typically with a tape solution and a Microsoft/Intel platform a complete operating
system, tape drive and software needs to be installed
before recovery can proceed.
Our system requires only the very basic OS - just enough to support RAID drivers.
This can save hours in implementing recovery - critical hours. What 's more, the
system is intelligent. Hardware platforms do not have to be identical - this reduces
complexity, error potential, time required and costs
